What's in the cup is for me...what's in the saucer is for you. The same is in both...and there is enough for everyone!

I had the privilege of attending a Tea with the women in my church and my Pastors wife was speaking and there was one thing that she said that brought back so many fond memories of my childhood days with my grandparents. She told the story of how every morning her grandmother would brew a pot of tea and she would take a tea cup and a saucer from the cupboard and pour the tea until it ran over the cup and into the saucer, she would tell her “what’s in the cup is for me… and what’s in the saucer is for you.” In my grandmothers home it was coffee, but the same thing would take place, she would allow us to have the overflow from the spilled coffee that was in the saucer.

When she said this I wanted to jump out of my seat and say “SAY THAT GIRL!” It was at that moment that I had an epiphany!! My cup runneth over! Everything we need has already been placed in us, ladies hear me now because what I am about to say is really going to bless you. You have been equipped with everything you need to succeed in this life, you have the skill, the knowledge the know how, the tenacity, the where with all, the guts, the stamina, the power, the strength, the attitude, the courage, the “I can do all things” the compassion, the love, and the energy, you are more than a conqueror, you are every woman, you are the giver, you are the receiver, you are the confidant, you are the she-ro, you are all that! Your cup runneth over!

This is so profound to me, because what ever is in the cup is in the saucer! Yes that’s right, as I am writing this I am getting a great revelation, we have been abundantly blessed yet we find reasons to complain, we are working everyday, “my cup runneth over” we are able to pay our bills “ my cup runneth over” we have life heath and strength “ my cup runneth over” our children are healthy and alive “my cup runneth over” we are able to extend a helping hand to someone in need “my cup runneth over” we can speak an encouraging word to a stranger, “my cup runneth over” we just received an unexpected raise, or check in the mail, “my cup runneth over”

Let’s begin to dwell on the things we have been so blessed with and not think about the things we think we are lacking. I just want to shout it from the mountain tops “My Cup Runneth Over!!!!! Yes and what’s running over is all of the things that I have been equipped with in order to live my best life. So if what ever is in the cup is now in the saucer when I share with you, this means that you have the same gifts that I have, you can handle life’s trails and test, you can reach down within yourself and pull out just what you need to make it through the day because you now know you have been equipped with everything you will need to sustain yourself in this thing we call life.

Take a moment to reflect on the things that matter the most to you and ask that your cup of life be filled to the point of overflow… then share your overflow with someone who honors you and looks up to you. Remember, the same thing that is in the cup! Will be in the saucer!
