The Impossible Dream

To dream the impossible dream; to fight the unbeatable foe, to bear with unbearable sorrow to run where the brave dare not go…I remember singing this song with my school choir, at the time the words meant nothing to me, it was just a song.

However; as I began to age, the words became alive deep in my spirit! Why, because I am a dreamer. I’ve always dreamed, there were times I would just sit in school and look out the window and just day dream, my teacher would tap me on my shoulder to bring me back to reality.
I wanted more, I knew there had to be more; this certainly could not be all life had to offer me. I felt that as a child and I still feel that now. What I know now is that there was then and is now a call on my life and I can’t rest until it is fulfilled. I believe that several of you have that same call on your lives as well. The call to be more; and do more; and to be a help to others. To show others the way out of circumstances and situations. Some of you are called to mentor, others to sponsor. I don’t believe that the creator would give us dreams and visions of wanting to help others if he had not already prepared the means for us to accomplish our goal.
The song goes on to say:” this is my quest to follow that star, no matter how hopeless no matter how far to fight for the right without question or pause to be willing to march into hell for a heavenly cause!” When are we going to stop being afraid to do what we know to do. What is your heavenly cause? What is it that you have been called to do and life has put fear in your heart? I can give my personal testimony that for years fear has gripped me and I felt like I was the tail and not the head, but now I know that I am the head and not the tail, I am above and not beneath, I am a lender and not a borrower.
This I know for sure, fear is not of God! We must stand tall and put on our walking shoes and begin to possess the land! That land could be your household, stop allowing your kids to run over you, stop taking the back seat, you are fearfully and wonderfully made, this means even on your job, stop allowing your boss to place fear in your heart concerning your employment. Know that if you are doing your job well then what God has for you will always be for you!
You must get focused on your dream, and see it as a star, then follow that star! The song ends with these words: “and the world would be better for this; that one man, scorned and covered with scars still strove with his last ounce of courage to reach the unreachable star!”
It may be hard, but reach for the star, you may come out wounded but reach for the star, you will, be talked about, but reach for the star! Your scars will become your medal of honor once you focus and tell the enemy that I can do all things through Christ that strengthens me!
Dream the impossible Dream!
